This is a monstrous artichoke flower that we found at the Phoenix Botanical Gardens during the Chihuly exhibit this year (2009). I snapped it just as a bee was getting ready to avail itself of the pollen. This one is arranged so that the flower is the center of attraction. If you are interested, click here.
